Scalry vs Zoho: Fifty Apps or One Marketing Workspace?

2 weeks, 2 days ago

Zoho's pitch is breadth. Zoho One bundles more than fifty business applications for one per-employee price; Zoho CRM Plus bundles about a dozen customer-facing ones. Almost nothing in the market competes on surface area. The question is whether breadth is what you are missing.

The short answer

Zoho is extraordinary value if you will genuinely use the suite — CRM, help desk, projects, accounting, HR, analytics — and you have someone to configure it. It is priced per user, so cost tracks headcount. Scalry is narrower on purpose: marketing and sales, with AI content production built in, at a flat workspace price. Pick Zoho for breadth across departments; pick Scalry for depth in marketing execution.

Pricing compared

Zoho CRM Plus$57/user/mo annually, $69/user/mo monthlyAround a dozen customer-facing apps: CRM, Desk, Campaigns, Social, Projects, Analytics, Survey, SalesIQ and others
Zoho One (flexible user)$90/user/mo annually50+ business apps across sales, marketing, finance, HR and operations
Zoho One (all-employee)Lower per-user rate; requires licensing every employeeSame 50+ apps

The per-user model is what to think about. A five-person marketing team on CRM Plus is $285/month annually billed; on Zoho One flexible-user pricing it is $450/month. Scalry's Agency plan is $199/month flat. But if that same $450 also replaces your help desk, your project tool, and your analytics stack, Zoho is winning on total spend, not losing.

Pricing for both products was checked against the public Scalry and Zoho pricing pages in August 2026. SaaS pricing changes often — confirm the current numbers with each vendor before you commit to a plan.

Where Zoho is the better choice

You are replacing software across several departments

This is Zoho's real argument and it is a strong one. If Zoho One replaces your CRM, help desk, project tool, expense system, and HR software, the per-user price stops looking like a marketing expense and starts looking like your entire software budget. Nothing in this comparison competes with that.

You need deep customisation

Zoho CRM's custom modules, layouts, and scripting let you model unusual business processes properly. Businesses with genuinely non-standard workflows can build what they need rather than working around a fixed data model.

You have IT resource to configure it

Zoho rewards configuration. With an administrator who knows the suite, it becomes very powerful. Without one, teams commonly use three apps of the fifty and wonder where the value went.

You need support ticketing next to the CRM

Zoho Desk sharing a customer record with Zoho CRM is a real operational advantage for businesses where support and sales touch the same accounts. Scalry has no equivalent.

Where Scalry is the better choice

You only need the marketing part

Paying per user for fifty apps to use four is a common Zoho outcome. If your requirement is marketing execution, a focused product will be faster to adopt and cheaper to run.

One product beats twelve integrated ones

Zoho's apps integrate, but they are still separate applications with separate interfaces, separate settings, and separate learning curves. Moving a campaign from Zoho Social to Campaigns to CRM means moving between products. In Scalry it is one workspace.

Content production is included

Zoho does not generate campaign imagery, video, or voiceover. That is a separate stack on top of the per-user bill.

Headcount is growing

Per-user pricing means every hire increases cost. Twenty people on CRM Plus is $1,140/month annually billed. Flat workspace pricing does not move with the org chart in the same way.

The costs that don't appear on the pricing page

  • Every user, every month. Zoho One's all-employee pricing is cheaper per head but requires licensing everyone — including staff who will never open it.
  • Configuration time. Zoho's flexibility is real, and so is the setup effort. Budget for an administrator or an implementation partner.
  • Apps outside the bundle. Not every Zoho product is in every bundle. Confirm the specific apps you need are in the tier you are pricing.
  • Training across many interfaces. Onboarding a new hire into a dozen applications takes longer than one.
  • Creative production. Separate on Zoho, included in Scalry's credits.

Migrating from Zoho

  • Establish which Zoho apps are actually in use. Run this audit first. Teams are frequently surprised to find only three or four have meaningful data.
  • Handle Desk separately if you use it. Support ticketing has no Scalry equivalent, so plan where it goes before anything moves.
  • Export CRM records with custom modules mapped. Heavily customised Zoho CRM instances need field mapping documented before import, not during.
  • Rebuild the campaign that matters most. One end-to-end campaign in the trial tells you more than a feature matrix.
  • Watch the annual renewal date. Annual Zoho commitments are usually not refundable mid-term.

A worked example

A thirty-person manufacturing business

Eight in sales, four in marketing, six in customer support, and the rest in operations and finance. They currently run a CRM, a separate help desk, a project tool, spreadsheets for expenses, and an email marketing tool nobody quite owns.

The finance director has asked what it would cost to consolidate.

How this plays out on Zoho

This is exactly the question Zoho One is built to answer. At $90 per user per month on flexible-user pricing, thirty people is $32,400 a year — but it replaces the CRM, the help desk, the project tool, the expense spreadsheets, and the email platform, with analytics across all of them.

Support sharing customer records with sales is a real operational gain for a business where an unhappy account and an open opportunity are often the same company. The cost is configuration: this needs an owner, and probably an implementation partner.

How this plays out on Scalry

Scalry answers the marketing quarter of this question well and the other three quarters not at all. There is no help desk, no project management, and no finance tooling.

For the four marketing people it would be a better day-to-day tool than Zoho Campaigns plus Zoho Social, particularly for content production. That is a real but narrow benefit.

The verdict for this team

Zoho, and it is not close. When the question is departmental consolidation, comparing against a marketing platform is comparing the wrong things.

The honest note for the marketing team: if they find Zoho's marketing apps frustrating in a year, adding a focused tool alongside it is a reasonable answer. But the consolidation decision should be made on the other twenty-six people.

What year one actually costs a five-person team

Headline prices are per month and per seat, which makes them hard to compare. Below is the same team — five people, annual billing where the vendor offers it — costed for twelve months. Scalry is priced at its most expensive published plan so the comparison is not flattered by picking a cheaper tier.

Year-one costScalry AgencyZoho CRM Plus
Platform subscription$1,990$3,420 (CRM Plus, 5 users at $57 annually)
A sixth hireNo change+$684/year
AI content stackIncluded in credits≈$1,200 (assumed $100/mo)
Year-one total$1,990≈$4,620

This compares marketing-and-sales scope only. If Zoho One at $90 per user per month ($5,400/year for five) also replaces your help desk, project tool, expense system, and analytics stack, the correct comparison is against your entire software budget — and Zoho very likely wins it. That is the honest framing.

Questions to ask before you commit

Whichever way you are leaning, these are the questions that change the answer. Work through them against your own numbers rather than anyone's feature matrix — including this one.

  • How many departments would Zoho serve? One means you are overbuying; four means Zoho is excellent value.
  • Is there an administrator? Zoho's value is unlocked by configuration, not by purchase.
  • Do support and sales share customer records? Zoho Desk beside Zoho CRM is a real advantage.
  • How many users, including occasional ones? All-employee pricing requires licensing everyone.
  • How unusual are your processes? Genuinely odd workflows favour Zoho's customisation.
  • How many interfaces will your team tolerate? Twelve integrated apps is still twelve apps.

If you cannot answer the first three, you are not ready to choose between Scalry and Zoho yet — you are still deciding what you need, which is a cheaper problem to solve first.

Frequently asked questions

Is Scalry a Zoho alternative?

For the marketing and sales portion, yes. Zoho's breadth across finance, HR, support, and projects has no Scalry equivalent, and if you need those, Zoho is answering a bigger question.

How much does Zoho actually cost?

Zoho CRM Plus is $57 per user per month billed annually, or $69 billed monthly. Zoho One flexible-user pricing is $90 per user per month, with a lower rate if you license every employee. Multiply by headcount — that is the number that matters.

Is Zoho hard to set up?

It is flexible, which is the same thing as configurable. Teams with an administrator get a great deal of value; teams without one often use a small fraction of the suite.

Does Scalry replace Zoho Desk?

No. Support ticketing is not a Scalry capability. If Desk is central to your operation, keep it or plan a replacement separately.

Which is cheaper?

Below about four users, Zoho CRM Plus can be cheaper. Above that, flat workspace pricing pulls ahead for marketing-only needs — but if Zoho is replacing tools in several departments, compare total software spend rather than these two line items.

Test it against your own numbers

The deciding question is whether you need breadth across departments or depth in marketing execution. You can rebuild one real campaign inside Scalry before moving anything else.
